0The best kids books by Dallas Clayton
Dallas Clayton is awesome. No seriously. He really is awesome. His kids books are primarily about being awesome too.
When Dallas Clayton was a kid, he dreamed about traveling around the world, meeting new people every day, having amazing experiences and sharing the stories from those experiences with other new people. And that’s pretty much what he does now. When not doing that, Dallas Clayton is writing, drawing, having his mind blown by his nine-year-old, or jumping into a large body of water.
While Dallas Clayton has been hailed as everything from ‘the self-publishing wunderkind’ to ‘the new Dr Seuss’, there’s really only one more thing you need to know about this imaginative and original Los Angeles based writer and artist – he used to be a unicorn. Awesome!

Based on the simple concept of dreaming big, An Awesome Book! is the inspiring debut work of Los Angeles writer/artist Dallas Clayton. An Awesome Book! encourages kids not to limit their dreams and to dream ‘… not a million quiet dreams’ but ‘a million dreams that roar’. The illustrations are creative and highly stylised – complementing the lyrical prose perfectly. Best of all, adults will love reading this over and over… whilst being reminded that they too have the capacity to dream big! Dallas Clayton’s first kids book, and still one of his best.

A book of illustrated poems full of wisdom, wonder, and whimsy.
A boy with a beard tries to stay six forever. A frightful monster lives a million miles away, but is equally scared of you. A magic rope hangs from the sky, next to a sign saying “Give me a try.” In this brightly illustrated selection of playful, often provocative poems, ideas run the gamut from stopping your lightning-fast running to help others keep up, imagining a store that sells colors never before made, or admitting you’ll never know all the answers (and sleeping better at night).
